As a second generation breeder of white doves, Daniel Carpenter was raised with a deep love and respect for these incredible birds.

Some of his earliest childhood memories are mornings spent with his dad, Mel Carpenter, gathering white doves and transporting them to the Disneyland Park in Anaheim. Every day the two would collect and deliver 300 birds for release in the Lion King Parade and Sword In The Stone Ceremony. As they would enter the back lots of the Park, Daniel recalls feeling great honor as his dad would unlock the gate and place the birds into position. That iconic key continues to hang on the door of our loft as a reminder of Mel’s legacy. His pure white birds became a fixture at Disneyland for 13 years, and can still be seen in countless videos and photos to this day.

In addition to this esteemed role, Mel’s white birds were most reputable for announcing the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. They silently circled above symbolizing world peace and left the crowd in awe.

These occasions mark only a few of the incredible events Mel’s doves participated in. The opening of the Nixon Library, Fifa World Cup Ceremony, Pope John Paul II’s United States visit, numerous television show and movie appearances, countless weddings, including Elizabeth Taylor’s nuptials at Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch, opening day at Angels Stadium, and graduations name only a few.

Upon Mel’s passing, his renowned pure white doves were handed down to Daniel, his younger son. Daniel got to play an integral role in his father’s passion, and loves having the opportunity to continue blessing people with his beautiful white doves.

Daniel, his wife, Erin, and their three daughters truly enjoy working with these amazing animals. Coming alongside each client to celebrate the milestones of life is a legacy they are honored to carry on.
